有人将剑桥通用五级的

KET（A2）和PET（B1）

称为“小雅思”。

我觉得有两方面原因：

第一，

机构用雅思在学生和家长中的认可度来带动宣传；

第二，

这两个考试确实一脉相承，都是剑桥血统，

因此在英语能力考查和

出题特点方面有很多相似之处。

最近在领儿子备考KET的过程中，

有很多题和雅思阅读的考查点非常像。

Shaziye

I live with my parents in the city of Bursa, Turkey, and both my mother's and my father's parents live in a village by the sea not far from us. When they were younger, my father's parents lived and worked in Bulgaria. They were both teachers, and came back to Turkey when they finished work. I’m glad we all live in the same country now because we can see each other every week. I love their village, but they always get up very early and I do as well when I stay there. That's not easy for me.

Six people live in my house in the city of Leon, Mexico. My mother's mother, my parents, my two brothers and me. I'm really lucky because my father's parents also live in a street near our flat, so l visit them nearly every day, too. I call my mother's mother Bela. She had a restaurant and now cooks fantastic meals for us. Mum can't cook well, but I can because Bela's teaching me.

I often visit my father’s parents because they live close to us. But my mother's parents are travelling around the world so it’s not possible to go to and see them. We often chat on the internet. My father’s father works ten hours every week. He’s a doctor, so we always phone him when we feel ill. My father’s mother was also a doctor, but she doesn’t work now. I have lunch with her on Saturdays.

作为一个教雅思阅读多年的老母亲，

我看这题的时候我就嘟囔，

这和雅思阅读的paraphrase的考查点一样。

那么，什么是paraphrase呢？

一起看牛津字典的解释：

to express what sb has said or written using different words, or in a different way, especially in order to make it easier to understand.

（用不同的词或句式释义）。

例如这篇文章：

文章里面是not far from，题里面是near；

文章里面是not possible to go to and see，题里面是can’t visit；

文章里面是havelunch with，题里面是eats with。

对应答案：

You can’t use this toilet. There is another one in Coach C.

这里面我们要知道alternative等于another，out of order 相当于not working/broken。

如果说KET阶段备考

可以有这方面的意识就可以，

那么PET阶段必须落在笔头，

因为词汇量加大，

句法结构复杂，

光靠脑子是不行的。

KET和PET的备考

不能像学新概念一样逐字翻译，

老师也不能把阅读文章逐字翻译。

和雅思一样，

词汇方面逐渐培养paraphrase的意识，

句子要进行句法分析，

段落要进行结构分析，

文章要做快速阅读，

按照雅思的培养方案绝对是正道，

因为KET和PET的雅思痕迹实在太重了！
