One can do anything one wants in life.

→随心所欲,心中所想皆能做成


出处:

莎士比亚(William Shakespeare)的著名喜剧(comedy)《温莎的风流妇人》第2幕第2场

The Merry Wives Of Windsor: "Why, then the world's mine oyster, Which I with sword will open."(Act 2, Scene 2)


场景应用:

①看到有潜力/有能力的人,或朋友条件很好但最近有些消沉,对ta说:"The world is your oyster."


②即将毕业,或要去面对新鲜与未知,你踌躇满志,可以说:"The world is my oyster."

【释义】

Someone will never reveal sth in confidence or betray a secret.

→形容一个人沉默寡言或守口如瓶


例:

Sophie will never repeat what you tell her. She's as dumb as an oyster.
